I've just finished reading The Fountainhead, again. This is one of the most influential books I have read. It has taught me many things. It has taught me what to value and what not to value.
Its been great reading this book because it teaches you to love yourself. It teaches you that to love yourself is not wrong. It is not dogmatic. It doesn't preach, it reasons.
Things that I've taken from this book
It doesn't matter what the whole world thinks, what matters is what I think, what I reason. And that will decide what I do.
Reason is above everything.
To do/say something just because somebody expects you to is lying to yourself. At the end of the day one should be proud to look oneself in the eye.
Let no one demand help from you. Give, not because you are expected to but because you want to.
Stand by what you hold true, what you hold sacred, come what may.
What others think of you doesn't matter. In the final analysis you stand alone. What speaks for you is what you have done. What matters is what you are, not what others think you are.
Let no one hold you ransom to your goodness.
Thanks Ms Rand!!
